Hellenic Candidate Study 2012

The Hellenic (Greek) Candidate Study 2012 has been conducted by the Laboratory of Applied Political Research, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as a web survey using www.epolls.gr. Candidate MPs and MPs received an initial invitation at the beginning of October 2012. Apart from the initial invitation, two more email reminders have been sent - only to candidates who had not completed the questionnaire until the time of the reminder. Given the large size of the questionnaire and the usually busy schedule of the respondents, the Greek Candidate Survey research team has decided to allow sufficient time (about three weeks) between the reminders. The first reminder was sent in late October 2012 and the second around 20 November 2012.

Our team collaborated with the research team of the project Elections, Leadership and Accountability: Political representation in Portugal, a longitudinal and comparative perspective, directed by André Freire, José Manuel Leite Viegas and Ana Belchior (Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology University Institute of Lisbon/CIES-IUL) for the battery of questions on the “Economic crises and the alternatives” . The same questions have been asked among the Greek and Portuguese candidates.
